I am endlessly trying to catch a normal picture of you but you often elude me with your silly faces that I have grown to love!

Mike, I fell in love with you 16 years ago. I am still in love with you today.

Pretending to be asleep so you could snuggle up with me in the car was a classic move, but it worked. You were quiet and interesting, I was drawn to your musical talent and loved each song that came out of your guitar. You were easy to talk to and continue to be. I felt so special when you gave me your necklace asked me to be your girlfriend. I loved riding around in your 67' bus and going out for Slurpee's together. I could have kissed you forever at Battle Creek Park if the cops would have just left us alone. I remember sitting in that awful dodge truck (the one with the broken windshield wipers you controlled with a rope in the winter) and asking you if one day we might get married. I remember at 16 telling you I wanted ten children and you just smiled. I could not ask for a better father to my children, who wouldn't want more when they come out so darn cute!
Foster care and adoption were always in my "plan" and you have without complaint let me live my dreams of helping the less fortunate no matter how unfortunate things can be for us sometimes. Time and time again other peoples children and even a handful of adults have lived with us. You have never told me no because you know my heart. Thank you for allowing me to follow the path of my heart by supporting my surrogacy journey, telling me to go for it in school, and putting up with my obsessions with child birth! I am your biggest fan and it is nice to know that you are mine. Thank you for seeing me as beautiful and showing me you love me. You have lifted me up over and over again even when my sadness was caused by my own choices. You have comforted me through the loss of my Grandmother, Brittani and the twins, as well as saying good bye to Archer; all of which you did with deep care and compassion. My heart is thankful for you. I am in love with you now more than ever, so on your 33rd birthday I am shouting to the world you are my love, my life, my best friend. Happy Birthday My Love!
